Friends matter a lot in every person’s life. Friends are one of the greatest experiences one can ever have. A friend will lift you when you are down and corrects your mistakes. We make friends every moment of our life especially when we go to new places and meet new people there. A best friend can do anything you ask from him or provide you with any support you might need.
Among the many friends you’ve had, there will be one of them you consider to be the best. Your best friends are those you can share secrets with. They are those you spend much time with and therefore they get to know much about you. They know your likes and dislikes, your strengths, and your weaknesses.
But you know what, they can mess you up badly. Woe onto you when you fall out of favor with a friend; when friends become enemies. They feel they have enough information to destroy you so when a little problem comes between you and them, they forget of all the kindness and love you had for each other. You will even question yourself whether this was the same friend you trusted and shared so much with.
What a best friend can do to you
- Your best friend might be jealous of your success, how will you know?
- Your best friend can try to change you negatively.
- They can dilute your secrets with lies to people.
- Your best friend can give you bad advice.
- Your best friend can talk badly about you to others.
- They can betray you when you need them the most.
- Your best friend can pressure you to do what you don’t want to do.
We cannot do away with friends but should remember not to put all our trust into them. Do trust your closest friend. Do not put all your confidence in your companion because he can abandon you even the time you need him most. See what the Bible says about trusting a friend here. Trust people but be very vigilant with how much you open up with them. By all means, you will have friends but be careful about what you share with them. Your best friend today can be your worst enemy tomorrow.
